The Brisben Center offers safe, congregate living accommodations for homeless families with children and single adults from the City of Fredericksburg and/or the counties of Spotsylvania, Stafford, King George or Caroline.
If you are dedicated to recovering from homelessness, if you participate in our hand-up, life skills-enriching services, and will work to become a sustainably housed neighbor in our communities, we are ready to work with you.
Upon approval, awaiting your arrival is a comfortable bed, hot shower, nutritious meals, computer lab, children’s play area, central wi-fi, meditation room, community garden, chaplain, bus stop, a nurturing staff and services that will work with you to plan for and achieve success.

Clients Must
- Be physically and mentally capable of independently providing adequate care for self (Activities of Daily Living) and for their children;
- Not present a threat of harm or danger to self or others, including clients, volunteers, staff or the facility;
- Adhere to the Brisben Center Code of Conduct, policies, and staff direction as they pertain to congregate facility operations, safety, security, health, and related matters;
- Obey applicable governmental regulations/laws; and,
- Not possess or consume alcohol or misuse substances at the Center or on its grounds;
- Treat clients, volunteers, staff, and the facilities with care and respect;
- Engage in case management and assigned services to achieve sustainable re-housing;
- Commit to overcoming housing barriers, preparing for and securing livable wage employment, and securing and sustaining housing.
