BRISBEN CENTER GIVE DAY

Dear Friends,

Mere thanks cannot begin to convey our gratitude for your support of our first annual day of giving. We’ve raised over $36,000 and climbing to help put everyone who comes through our doors on the path to permanent housing. Thank you for this extraordinary support!

If you did not have an opportunity to make a gift, you may still do so online below or by sending a check to our P.O. Box or by calling Chris Payton at 540-899-9853 ext. 118. Any amount you’re able to give will go a long way toward helping us fulfill our mission.

You can learn more about the important work we’ve been doing in this interview Executive Director David Cooper gave recently (https://comcastnewsmakers.com/Videos/2019/6/5/Brisben). We could not do what we do without you, and we’re so grateful for the gifts, goods, thoughts, and prayers you share with us for the deserving people we support.

MARINES VISIT BRISBEN

The Brisben Center was the recipient of some hardworking Marines this week. Members from Quantico visited the Center and completed several very important projects, most importantly, getting the facility ready for our new washers and dryers from the Washington Redskins. They also organized several areas, including a very cluttered shed and braved the cold to organize the freezer, the best we have seen it in years. Thank you to these wonderful volunteers! PARTNER PROGRAM LAUNCHES!

PARTNER PROGRAM LAUNCHES!

The Brisben Center is excited to announce a new opportunity to be part of the Brisben story— Community Partners. The Center’s Community Partners are businesses, and civic, social and fraternal organizations committed to supporting an experienced nonprofit with a basic humanitarian mission — delivering the most essential services of food, secure and safe shelter, and a second chance at independence to hundreds of our community’s homeless men, women and children.

Existing and new Community Partners are local businesses and organizations that choose to actively support the Thurman Brisben Center — our community’s 80-bed, year-round, 24-hours a day, emergency homeless shelter.  We are blessed by our many longtime existing business and organizational supporters, and welcome them, as well as new area businesses and organizations to become a Community Partner.

Community Partners support the center in a variety of ways and will be recognized at the Brisben Center website and at the Center.  Community Partner activities on behalf of the homeless will be recognized at www.brisbencenter.org and at our Facebook page.  And subject to partner approval, special activities will be noted in the Center’s e-newsletter and shared with the media.

For more information on the Community Partner program, please send an email to communitypartner@brisbencenter.org.
